Your local contractor and family

Hi, my name is Jessica Woods. My husband Daniel and I are starting this fundraiser for our cousin Herbert Overbeck and his family. As many people know, from local headlines and the many people who were in the area at the time of the massive accident.

Herb was on his way to finish a contract job when a van heading in the opposite direction lost a tire causing a TPS tanker driver to swerve into his lane, hitting him head on. The impact sent both vehicles into flames. While the man who actually caused this accident impacting 2 families lives runs free.

Most of you know Herb from his beautiful contract work with his HWO Construction company. Many local families have used him, and continue to fill his schedule. What many people may not realize is his business, reliability, and welfare of his family depend on him, his truck and his tools. All of which was destroyed by the explosion, in which he barely made it out with his life. Almost leaving 2 daughters and wife alone.

Along with the physical loss of his truck, tools and a down payment for a job he was set to do, he lost very sentimental items. Including the truck itself that was given to him after the passing of a loved one. Things that are now gone forever.

This family wouldn't ask for hand outs as they are always the first to jump and help anyone if they can, and they would struggle in silence rather than ask for help, so we are asking for them. As a family and a community, we've seen what our town has done together to help it's local residents in need. So we are asking you all to please help if you can. We would like to raise enough money for him to buy a truck, and tools. Just a helping hand to get him back to work. Get him back to his current contracts, as they were depending on him as well, and back in a position to support his family.
