Hi, my name is Stephen Plumb, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself during one of the most difficult times of my life. I normally wouldn’t do something like this, but I’ve hit a point where I need to ask for help and that’s not easy for me to do.

I’m a proud veteran. The VA has saved my life more than once, and I’m beyond grateful for the care I’ve received. A few months ago, I was struck with a severe, life-threatening case of necrotizing fasciitis a flesh-eating bacteria that destroyed a large part of my upper right leg. I’m still recovering and living with an open wound. For now, I’m confined to a hospital bed at home while I heal, and I just started remote work again after being out of work for over two months.

Because of this unexpected medical crisis, I’ve fallen two months behind on all of my bills rent, utilities, medical expenses everything. It’s overwhelming, and although I’m doing my best to work again, I’m still deep in the hole.

This fundraiser is to help me cover those critical living expenses while I continue to heal and rebuild. Every dollar raised will go directly to my own bank account, which is linked securely through GoFundMe, and will be used to pay overdue bills, purchase medical supplies, and keep a roof over my head during this tough transition back to work and health.

If you can find it in your heart to help even just a little I would be incredibly grateful. I know times are hard for many right now, and I truly hate having to ask. But if you’re able to share this with friends, or contribute anything at all, it would mean the world to me.
