Your Help Can Heal Rachel's Heart

I don't normally ask but Rachel could really use the short term Heartworm treatment. Please read her story below and if you can assist in helping we would greatly appreciate it. Treatment is about $1200 total. All funds will go directly to Rachel's treatment. Trying to find a home for her but she's being overlooked due to the HW issue.

Rachel update. She tested positive for heartworms so the potential family backed out of taking g her. They are really sad it worked out this way. So now I’m back asking for help. She’s UTD with Rabies; HW positive. John and I decided to start treatment to get her better. She’s showing no signs of being infested with them so vet said the long term treatment will work. She’s too young to have had it very long. The meds Just takes a little longer. Thus consists of doxy for 30 days, predizone for 12 days, heartgard every 15 days for 6 months then normal heartgard once a month. All of these have been purchased and she started her treatment today.

Rachel is very calm. She doesn’t get on furniture, she doesn’t jump and lick you to death. She is so laid back it amazes me.

Who ever gets her will get a great dog. She gets along with other dogs, cats, and children. I’ve never heard her bark. She really doesn’t respond to her name so name change will be easy. She saw me today and was so excited- she did great in the car.

She’s 61 lbs English lab approx 1 year old. She has not been fixed. She is still a stray but a friend is taking care of her temporarily- she will be unable to foster very much longer. She’s in NC and transportation can be arranged. It’s sad that because of this curable problem people over look her
