A message to everyone on behalf of Paola & Alejandro by their Uncle Henry:
To all of those that have followed, supported donated or shared our GoFundMe page, I am humbly requesting your assistance in doing what we can to continue to assist Paola & Alejandro on their journey as Paola continues to struggle with #CRPS.
Unfortunately, as the medication has been weaned off, and Paola has declined with continued pain, and now has tinnitus as well as her ability to see or keep her eyes open from any sunlight. They must keep blankets over the windows to prevent the sunlight from coming in as even that is too bright for her.
On another note, the heat has been unbearable in Arkansas where the clinic is located, and their air conditioning in their car is no longer working.
Paola & Alejandro need continued prayers, positive thoughts and if possible, even more donations so they can pay for not only her ongoing treatment that, for those of you who don't know is NOT covered by insurance, as they literally have to pay between $3K - $5K a week depending on the type of treatment received for the week. She has had to cut some of the services so they can afford to keep going on with her treatment at #Spero Clinic.
Asking for donations is never easy, and on behalf of Paola & Alejandro, I know they are so grateful for all those that have donated and have had even repeat donations from many friends and loved ones. But, they are in need and the weeks at the clinic keep extending as Paola struggles to ring the bell and hopefully one day, come home with no pain, no struggle and the ability to get her livelihood back.
Please - won't you donate today? And if you cannot donate, would you please share this GoFundMe link with your friends, family, church, affiliations, organizations, gyms or anywhere you know there is a traffic of people that just may open their hearts and be true angels of donations to help Paola & Alejandro get closer to their goal.

Take a look at this link to see Paola's progress since she started the treatments in 10/2023.
First of all, on behalf of my niece, Paola, her husband, Alejandro and the entire Diaz & Munoz families - we want to THANK YOU so much for getting us closer, day by day to their goal of paying for this treatment at Spero Clinic. Words are not enough to express our heartfelt emotions.
As we entered in 2024, the uphill challenge continues of
1) PERSEVERANCE:
Paola and Alejandro's ongoing perseverance, telling everyone that they know things are ok, when I, their uncle, know they shake and worry inside wondering how they will accomplish the task still ahead.
2) STRENGTH:
Staying strong, on task and always knowing they have the support of their family and true friends. To reach the physical summit, after the uphill challenge will be the biggest accomplishment that they have their eye set on - and strength will get them there.
3) FAITH:
Religious or not, to each his own, but FAITH exists - and both Paola and Alejandro have that faith instilled deep in them to never let outside forces, negativity or challenges affect their path - their goals, their vision. If they get in through a crack or a seam, it is extinguished with power in their faith for the weak moments - that only make them stronger.
4) LOVE
What more love than what has been shown through this GoFundMe page. If you have given, then you know you have assisted in placing a stepping stone in their path to recovery - physically, financially and in love. We are all consumed with the amount of love that has been demonstrated through various efforts and for that we will always be thankful.
Paola's progress has been going well - she has finally started being able to actually ride "shotgun" in the car, something she hasn't been able to do in a long time. She is able to be on crutches as she still manages the pain that is excruciating, shunning the pain by standing strong. Telling it to leave her body, because she is a WARRIOR. The scar will be there, but the strength will never be removed.
Please, we ask that you continue to give, continue to share, social media, conversation, anything that will spread the word on CRPS and that it can be battled and won.
Paola and Alejandro as getting closer and closer - help them today! Every cent helps.
Here is the original story below of when we first opened the GoFundMe page. We've come along way. Thanks to all of YOU.
I am "Tio" Henry - and this gofundme page is being created to help my beautiful niece, Paola and her husband, Alejandro to achieve the goal of being able to raise money to pay for what is hopefully, the end of their difficult health journey.
Paola & Alejandro are the most giving and loving couple you will ever meet and are probably the last people on earth that would ever even think of asking anyone for financial assistance, as they persevere in silence and work together to achieve their own personal goals. But, they have an uncle, myself that is stepping in and asking for donations on their behalf to help Paola and Alejandro with their medical bills.
Paola has been struggling for nearly 1.5 years with a debilitating disease called CRPS or Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome - that has caused their lives to be turned upside down as Paola has struggled with ongoing, constant pain in her right leg after an invasive surgery for her knee that caused the disease she is currently suffering through today. Paola has not been able to work during this time, and has become dependent on those around her to assist in her activities of daily living due to her constant pain that she can only describe as "knives being stabbed into her leg," 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, non-stop. Her right leg cannot be touched, and even the slightest breeze that most of us enjoy is a nightmare of pain for her.
Paola and Alejandro have gone through research, treatments and ongoing therapies that, apart from keeping Paola's legs in some activity, have done really nothing to help her get back to independence, and much less for the ongoing severe pain she feels in her leg.
Out of Paola and Alejandro's ongoing research, she came across a treatment center called SPERO clinic in Arkansas, where she was accepted to attend for treatment with a high percentage of success rate of possibly coming out of the treatment facility starting her life of independence again. But like everything in life, especially medically - it is very expensive and thus the reason for this gofundme page to reach out to my family, friends, contacts, network and extended network to please do what they can to donate towards helping Paola and Alejandro pay for this treatment. A treatment that could not only give Paola her independence back, but also return both Paola and Alejandro back on their journey of happily ever after and away from this awful detour that they are ready to put in their rear view mirror. Not to forget - but to put into perspective to cherish life for all it's worth and not take advantage of things we take for granted.
Paola is the daughter I will never have, and Alejandro is an angel that has earned his wings throughout this process, giving of himself unconditionally to ensure that his wife was always positive and guide her to the goal of walking again by his side, hand in hand.
Won't you help Paola and Alejandro with a donation to help them achieve their goal of paying for this treatment and putting them back on their path……
