My name is Daniel Tyler, born and raised in Brooklyn, and for years I have dedicated my life to supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I’ve worked hands-on in group homes, day programs, community programs, and direct support roles. Through every experience, one truth kept standing out to me: people deserve more than just supervision — they deserve purpose, dignity, and real opportunities to grow.

I started Designated Journey DayHab Without Walls because I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when individuals are guided into their communities, treated with patience, and given the chance to learn life skills outside of a building. Something as simple as going to the library, trying a new fitness routine, learning how to navigate transportation, or ordering food at a café can completely change someone’s confidence and independence.

This program is personal to me. It reflects everything I believe in — compassion, structure, empowerment, and community involvement. I want families to feel safe knowing their loved ones are in the hands of someone who truly cares and who understands how to support their growth.

Starting this business is not easy, especially with limited funds and many startup costs that must be covered before I can bring on my first client. But I am committed. I’m building something that will last — something that will serve families, uplift individuals, and create real impact in New York City.
