My sweet dog Daisy has spent her entire life beating the odds. She’s a 9-year-old foxhound mix with the gentlest spirit, and despite everything she’s survived, she has never stopped loving people with her full heart.
Daisy was likely used as a captive breeding dog before being discarded and left to fend for herself as a stray on the streets. She was eventually rescued by Rescue Coop of Conway, South Carolina, a wonderful 501(c)(3) organization that stepped in when no one else would. I adopted her in 2023, determined to finally give her the safe, loving home she deserved.
Recently, Daisy was diagnosed with aggressive nasal cancer. The news has been devastating. Her only meaningful treatment option is a specialized radiation therapy called CyberKnife, which offers her the longest potential survival. 15 to 18 precious months, maybe more if we’re lucky. For a dog who has spent most of her life suffering, those months would mean everything.
Unfortunately, CyberKnife therapy is incredibly expensive.
The estimated costs include:
$2963 (already paid by CC) cost to diagnose
$12,000 -$15,000 for CyberKnife radiation
$3000 for required CT radiation planning
Plus extra money for medication, office visits and other treatment costs.
Daisy is insured but right now we don’t know how much, if any, of this treatment will be covered. What we do know is that her cancer is in a small, confined space, and she needs treatment immediately if she is going to have a chance.
It feels unbearably unfair that after everything Daisy endured early in life, she is now facing such a terrifying medical battle. She finally knows love, comfort, safety, and family and I want nothing more than to give her the chance to enjoy that for as long as possible.
How Your Support Will Be Used:
Every dollar raised will go directly toward Daisy’s medical care and treatment-related costs. And because transparency matters deeply to me:
Any funds donated that exceed Daisy’s actual medical bills,
and any amount later reimbursed to our family by insurance, will be donated directly to Rescue Coop.
They saved Daisy once, and with your help, her story can go on to save many more dogs just like her. Dogs who have been abandoned, mistreated, or forgotten.
You Can Help Give Daisy More Time. Time She Deserves.
If you are able to contribute, share, or simply send Daisy good thoughts, we are deeply grateful. Daisy finally has a home, a family, and a life worth fighting for. Please help us give her a chance to keep it.
Thank you for caring about Daisy. Thank you for believing her life matters.
