My name is Lachie Young. In 2027, I'll become the first Australian to run the length of Canada. Thats over 7,000km, in less than 150 days. I'm not a runner, not a pro athlete, just a 19 year old with a big idea, and an even bigger reason why. What was originally a drunken joke between mates, has now become a reality. I'm running to raise awareness about mental health, specifically within the Australian veteran community. This run is in support of Pillars for Pilgrims, a charity founded by SASR veterans, committed to walking alongside those who served, showing up and supporting. This run is my way of showing up too. To raise awareness and remind people they're not alone. These Gofundme donations, will provide the funds to allow myself, my team and my equipment to get to Canada, as well as provide support during the run across Canada. This includes transportation costs, shoes, vehicles, fuel, food, accomodation, clothing, supplements and more. Any donation, big or small, makes a difference. Money that is donated to this fund, that I don’t use to help support the run, will be donated to the Pillars for Pilgrims charity, hence why the donation goal is 1 million dollars. Thank you
