Young Woman's House Collapses in Winter Storm

My name is Lori Gentile and I am fundraising for a dear friend of mine, Katie Maloney. Located in Shrewsbury, in the early morning hours around 4am Wednesday, January 10th, Katie unfortunately lost everything when her roof collapsed in on her home due to the winter storm. This tragedy has unfortunately left Katie with little to nothing, as almost all her personal belongings and things dear to her are now destroyed. She is left with piles of debris and scrounging for what she can still recover. Most importantly, both her dog and cat were saved from the accident and have been rescued. The building has been described as inhabitable unlivable which in turn forces them to demolish the rest of the home. Without insurance, this makes a total loss for Katie and has left her homeless. Without a doubt Katie is one of the most hardworking, honest, reliable, people that I know and has always been a great friend, coworker, and family member to all. If there is anyone deserving of this help it would be Katie. With the help from this fundraiser, we can start to rebuild Katie's life and allow her to have one less stress on her shoulders. This money will go towards the process of finding a new place to live and replenishing some personal items.
