My names Peter Pfeiffer and I am the President of the Reservoir Mayston Cricket Club. On Saturday 7th January one of our young sport loving players Luke Gibbs was involved in an almost fatal tragedy while playing a local game of cricket for his beloved Redbacks. While batting Luke was hit in the throat breaking and dislodging his Adam’s apple and snapping the ligament in his neck. After hospital treatment and ongoing tests it has come to pass that Luke will never play sports again as a slight knock to this same area would almost end his life. It’s something none of us could ever wish to happen and the consequences this young man faces now is for the rest of his life and at only 24 it’s such a sad tragedy for a keen basketballer cricketer and football fanatic. If we can get the local sports players to just donate it all adds up to help Luke get through this hard period of recovery and out of work expenses. Every dollar is appreciated in more ways than one.
