Young rural basoonist to New England Music Camp

In January 2019, our son  started playing bassoon, his dream instrument, which took us over a year and a half to be able to locate and purchase.  We live in a rural area of Virginia with limited access to double reed instructors, and drive an hour and a half once a month so that he can get bassoon lessons. Because we are in a rural school district with very limited funding, the  opportunities for him to learn and grow on  the bassoon are very limited.

His bassoon teacher has been able to secure him a spot at the New England Music Camp  this summer where he can really be immersed in lessons and developing his skills as a bassoonist, however the tuition is a hardship for our family due to expenses for his younger brother's hearing aids. He has been awarded scholarship dollars and a work study assignment for the camp, but he is still in need of funds to cover costs. He would like to go because he really wants to have this opportunity to expand his knowledge on the bassoon, and meet people who are passionate about music like him.

The $1200 from this gofundme campaign would go to cover the remaining cost of tuition, travel expenses from Virginia to Maine, and the purchase of the necessary concert attire. The breakdown is as follows:
        * tuition fee: $1300
        * shuttle service from airport to camp (round trip provided by NEMC): $150
        * transportation to New England (lowest priced option): $353
         *shipping supplies/clothing (not allowed to check bags): $300
