Update: This is the same GoFundMe campaign that helped fund our first children's book, Stella. Thanks to your incredible support, we successfully raised around €2,000 and brought that project to life. We are now asking for your help again to fund our next children's book. Our new goal is to raise $3,000 to pay illustrator Abigail Roscoe.

Help us fund the new Book of Young Rebel Books and pay the amazing artist Abigail Roscoe fairly for her art. Our goal is $3.000 USD, to fully cover Abigail's illustration fee. So far we're able to cover our day-today expenses through our book sales, but creating a new children's book is a major upfront investment. We believe artists deserve a fair pay, so we're asking our community to help make this new project possible.

We are incredibly lucky to be working with Mexican-Canadian artist Abigail Roscoe. Despite losing the vision in one eye after a medical error and living with chronic illness and disability, Abigail has never given up and never stopped creating mesmerizing art. Her resilience, empathy, and astonishing illustrations make her the perfect artist to bring this story to life.

The story is about Bobby, a frog and his friends who live by a pond in peace and harmony with the local kids and community. One day, construction trucks roll in and announce the construction of an AI data center that would destroy their habitat. Bobby and his friends organize a protest, creating signs with facts about their benefits for the Eco-system and why wetlands and wildlife are important. When the local kids, that were sent away by the construction workers and police come back and read those signs, they decide to stand with their animal friends and do the same thing. Together, they discover that even small voices can make a difference.

Our first book, Stella, has already almost reached 2.000 readers and has been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Literary Global Children's Book Awards.

About the founder of Young Rebel Books:

I have a Bachelor's degree in Childhood Pedagogy and over 10 years of experience working with children and young adults. I have supported drug-addicted teenagers and unaccompanied minors from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza. For years, I have wanted to publish children’s books that teach empathy, solidarity and fairness from a young age.

With every book we sell, $1 dollar will go to Border Kindness, a nonprofit organization that a non-profit group that helps refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum. They give out food, shelter, clothing, and medical care. They also work to support children and families with learning and technology. We are also providing free versions for school projects in the global south and at cost versions for classrooms.
