Who we are
We are a production group from the University of California, Santa Barbara- a mixture of sophomores to seniors with ranging production experience. We are thrilled to share this new short film with you and appreciate the support!
Overview
Young People is a short film about Jack and Claire, a couple in college struggling to create a relationship while one of them faces a tragic loss. The pervasive depression that clouds Jack’s life prevents him from moving closer to Claire, and his distance takes its toll.
This film is an intimate and raw insight into the shifting dynamics of a relationship and a deeper analysis of how oftentimes when we do not have the tools to heal from tragedy, we end up hurting ourselves and others. This film delves into topics such as the persistence of grief, the need for connection, and the strength it takes to grow.
I want to us to feel immersed in the story alongside Claire and Jack as if we are flies on the wall. To create this sense of intimacy, we are using real college environments, talented actors, lighting with natural tones, and shooting on 16 mm film that will result in moving images of a quiet, beautiful, and complex life played before us.
Budget Breakdown
