Hello. My name is Tegan Keller. I am 32 years old, mother of two elementary age children, living in the town of Fort Peck in rural northeast Montana. I work the contract for a USPS rural postal route. My partner, James Walling, is the editor of our county newspaper.

In August 2022, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. After tests and scans, the staging was later confirmed, Stage 3A, ER+, PR+, HER-. I am facing 16 weeks of chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy and radiation after. My chances for a full recovery are good. Currently I’m on week two of treatment. I have had more good days and fewer bad so far.

My first referral was to Billings, MT and I wasn’t going to be able to be seen until the end of October(three months from the biopsy results). I feel very blessed and lucky to have found Sidney Cancer Care Center in Sidney, Montana. It’s 140 miles away, 2 hour drive one way (opposed to 4.5 hours one way for the Billings referral). I received many personal recommendations to see Dr. Chad Pedersen in Sidney. The cancer team wasted no time getting me scheduled for tests and into treatment for my breast cancer diagnosis. They have been top notch in their dedication for my care and seeing that I make it through this for myself and my family.

This fundraiser is to help me make all my appointments for treatment. Currently, I have been making twice weekly trips. One day, I have to miss a day of work. I’m appealing to my insurance company to approve a take home white blood cell infusion shot so I can make one less trip. So far, it’s been denied despite qualifying for distance from the facility. I am still trying! Any and all help will be going toward medical bills and travel expenses for treatment.
