Young Mom of Two is Fighting Leukemia

On December 17th, 2022, Ashlie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) after going to the doctor for a routine check-up and bloodwork. Not only was the diagnosis a shock, but it came just days before Christmas. Ashlie and her wife, Emily, also have two young children. Ashlie starts chemotherapy today, December 19th, 2022.

I also want to talk about how amazing Ashlie is. She was one of the first friends I made when I moved here. She and her family welcomed me with open arms and hearts and have truly made an immeasurable impact on my life. Ashlie is one of the funniest, down-to-earth, kind, selfless, and inclusive people I have ever met. You will always see her smiling and joking around, she lights up every room she walks in. I know everyone who has had the pleasure of getting to know her will attest to this. She and her wife are wonderful parents to their two young children and will do absolutely anything for them.

Another reality of this battle is that there will be a lot of costs associated with treatment. Ashlie will be out of work while undergoing chemotherapy, so we are trying to raise as much as possible to help ease the financial burden while she is going through the hardest fight of her life.
