I am sorry to post that OZ did pass away last Friday -  he was 24!  Very sad but the cancer continued to spread throughout his body.  Its been a very difficult time for his family -  single Mother with two other younger sons at home.  They could really use your prayers and financial support.  Thanks in Advance .

Before his cancer diagnosis, Oswaldo (OZ) Echeverria was a very private person and independent  marine and active reservist. In March 2018, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Oz understood the importance of seeking medical attention quickly after noticing a change in his body. “I decided to go public with my experience because if I can help other guys catch cancer early, it’s worth me sharing my story,” OZ says.

For a few weeks, OZ, who is 23, is a personal trainer, noticed that his back started to have a lot of pain. He figured he had worked out too aggressively. His employer noticed a change in his mobility and attitude during a very short time. That weekend, he was on Marine drill and was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. By the end of the following week, he had undergone 2 surgeries to remove his testicular and two ping pong sized tumors from his brain.

He has now undergone three months of aggressive chemo therapy and physical therapy due to the side effects of the cancer. OZ is recovering but he has a long road ahead of him He is not able to work, and is now living with his single mother, and younger siblings, in her 2 bedroom apartment.

He has maintained a positive attitude but is reluctant to ask for assistance. I am appealing to his friends, my Facebook friends, fellow Ameriprise Financial colleagues, and others who are motivated to help a fellow Marine.
