Hi everyone,

We’re fundraising to support a top young man who’s chasing a big dream.

Ian has just been accepted into St Peters Lutheran College in Indooroopilly Brisbane for years 11 and 12. Not an easy task when the school only takes 10 new enrolments in year 11. Not only did he get accepted but he was also awarded a boarding scholarship that covers 20% of tuition fees which equals $4899 a year. This is a huge achievement and the next step toward his goal: becoming a fighter pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force.

He’s a country boy from a small rural town, where opportunities like this don’t come around often. Moving to the city for school will open up doors for him — in academics, sport, and leadership — and give him the chance to take his skills to the next level.

He’s already showing the kind of dedication it takes: he is dedicated to his studies and achieving top results as well as a competitive swimmer with standout times at state level and he has competed at Australian Age Nationals the last two years. He is a regular at the local pool where he works, and a talented singer who performs in local eisteddfods and as part of the local community choir concerts throughout the year. Ian is also an active member of the Yamba surf lifesaving club where he does patrols and has his bronze medallion. He gives everything his all.

He comes from a family who live the same way — his mum volunteers her time to run the local swimming club, helps at eisteddfods, school events, and dance concerts. They’re always the first to put their hand up to support others — and now, they’re the ones in need of a little support themselves.

Boarding school is a big step, but one Ian is ready for. He’s determined to work hard, step up, and make the most of this opportunity — he just needs a bit of help getting there.

All funds raised will go directly toward boarding and tuition costs for his final two years of high school.
