Hi, my name is John Silva, and my son Jonathan and I are trying to raise money to help with his medical bills and expenses. Several years ago, Jonathan woke up on a regular day to go to his regular job just like everyone else. When he woke up he was in so much pain he could hardly move. The pain lasted for weeks on end and nothing seemed to help. We went to every specialist we could find in the Norwest Arkansas area, and no one could find any reason for the pain he was suffering. He learned to live with the pain and manage it as best he could. He went to work for the University of Arkansas in hopes of using his employment there as a means to further his education and get his degree in nursing. In 2021, he married the love of his life and together they are raising two boys. In June 2022, his pain came back worse than he ever could have imagined. He found it difficult to even walk. His body would go numb and stiff on the entire right side of his body. No amount of pain management would help. Once again, he began his journey of trying to find a diagnosis. He has been to every specialist, therapist, and pain management specialist available including a costly visit to The Cleveland Clinic Facility in Cleveland, Oh. They were just as puzzled as every other specialist he has seen. He has now lost his job along with any hope of furthering his education. He is too much pain to work. He can't even play catch with his 2 sons because of his pain. He rarely gets out to visit any family and friends due to his pain. He is a shell of his former self at 32 years old. We finally have a "diagnosis" of CRPS [Complex Regional Pain Syndrome]. The one ray of hope we have is a very costly treatment involving ketamine shots to get him through physical therapy. Hopefully, this will get him back on track to living the healthiest life he possibly can. Currently, there is no cure for CRPS, but all we can strive for is to get Jonathan to where he can get back to work, and be the husband and father he longs to be once again. Your donations will go directly to treatment payments and nothing else. This fundraiser is strictly for medical bills because his insurance doesn't cover this treatment. Please help in getting Jonathan back to being Jonathan.
Edit: Since creating this Go Fund Me in March 2023, things have gotten worse. We are at the "last resort" stage of trying to get his CRPS in remission. That last resort step is the Spero Clinic in Northwest Arkansas. They are a nationally renowned clinic with a history of treating CRPS with consistent success. The problem, as seemingly always with CRPA treatment is that insurance does not cover the treatment. The average treatment ranges from $35,000 to $50,000. Obviously, this is a seemingly insurmountable task. But hopefully with enough help, we can reach this goal and finally get Jonathan back to a somewhat resemblance of who he was. I am begging as a father who loves his son dearly to help out however you can. I know this is a lot to ask, but we are trying everything we can to get him the help he needs. Your donations, prayers, and fund raising shares will be appreciated more than you will ever know.
