Young Family’s Car Stolen and Destroyed — They Need Us

Late last night, while my sister and her family were peacefully sleeping, their car was stolen right from their home. Hours later, we learned that the car had been involved in a high-speed police pursuit and a devastating rollover crash. Four teenagers—just 13 to 15 years old—had taken the car and were seriously injured in the wreck. None of them belonged to the family, and now the car is completely totaled.

This has been an overwhelming and heartbreaking experience for my sister and her partner, who are working hard to build a stable life for their 2-year-old son. They recently moved into their first rental home and are doing everything they can to make ends meet. Sadly, due to financial strain, they were unable to make their car insurance payment a few weeks ago and were planning to catch up as soon as possible. Now, the car is gone—and with it, her only reliable transportation for work, daycare, and everyday life.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to ask for help in getting them back on their feet. Any amount you can give will go directly toward replacing the car and helping this young family move forward from this traumatic event. They didn’t deserve this, and any support—big or small—would mean the world.
