Hi, my name is Carolyn and I am starting this Go Fund Me for my dear friend and co worker Lauren. Lauren is an amazing oncology nurse, mother and friend. Lauren is a gentle soul, who knows no bounds when caring for her patients and especially her family. Lauren and her Husband Mike have two incredibly beautiful little boys, ages 2 and 3 years.

A few weeks before the holidays last year, Lauren and her husband learned, their older son, Ryan has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

This diagnosis came completely by surprise. Out of no where this amazing family of four had their world turned upside-down.

Lauren and Mike are doing everything they can to be able to give Ryan the best shot possible at having the best life ever.

The funds raised will allow Lauren and Mike some flexibility in this early stage of Ryan's diagnosis. There are doctors visits, blood tests, traveling to other states for treatment, clinical trials and special equipment, ultimately will be needed. Lauren will need to take time off from her job, mostly without pay. Insurance will not cover everything. Our goal is to allow this family some breathing room and to be able to explore all options open. To, not have to say no to a treatment, that may benefit Ryan.

Finally, it's Lauren and Mike's desire, to share what they learn on this journey to be a resource and support to other families being affected by DMD.
