Young couple lost everything in apartment fire

Hello everyone!

My name is Keela, I’m 23 years old, and my flatmates name is Idalia, who is 19 years old.

On Sunday night, our apartment flooded and wet our electric bike batteries. On Monday night, around 12:30 am, we heard a crackling noise from the batteries and smoke as we watched a movie. They were drying on a towel and not being charged. Within a minute of seeing the smoke, the batteries exploded and started a massive fire in our bedroom. Fortunately, we got out in time and could call the fire brigade. We were in the street waiting for 2 hours waiting to see if anything in the room survived the fire.

Unfortunately, we have lost everything.
