Hi everyone, my name is Sarah and I’m an opera singer in the middle of Young Artist audition season. This is the time of year when singers travel around the country to audition for the programs that launch our careers. I’m grateful and humbled to share that I’ve been offered several auditions this season, truly a dream and a milestone I’ve worked toward for years.

But the truth is, the cost of flights, gas, lodging, and application fees has become overwhelming, especially during the holidays when finances are tight for so many. I’ve been stretching every resource I have, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t cover the travel needed to attend these opportunities. It’s heartbreaking to consider turning them down after dedicating years of training, rehearsals, late nights, and sacrifices to get here.

I’m starting this GoFundMe not out of entitlement, but out of hope that the community around me might help bridge the gap so I can show up to these auditions and keep moving toward the career I’ve been building with everything I have. Every dollar truly makes a difference, and even sharing this fundraiser means the world.
