Hi, I'm Paul Ordish and I have written my autobiography titled "You'll Never Walk Alone." I believe, by giving others the opportunity to hear my story in a podcast, will encourage those living with a disability to keep trying, no matter what their circumstances may be.

Imagine this. You wake up and open your eyes. What you see is clear for about fifteen centimetres. After that, things start to blur and become fuzzy. That is on the left of your field of vision. On the right, it is similar, but due to nerve damage at the back of the eye, images do not remain stable. My vision is improved with spectacles, but smaller details are missed because of the instability of the images, particularly on the right.

This is how I have seen life since I was two and a half years old. As a result of this, my life has been limited in what I do for the past eighty years.

However, three friends helped me to accomplish so much more than I could ever dream. This is my story of what is possible.

Part of this story is a condensed history of 96 Five, one of Brisbane's community radio stations, where my wife and I were volunteers from 1989 to the end of 1996. The station has given me the opportunity to make the book into a podcast featuring readings from the book and excerpts from radio archives. The funds raised here are to cover the costs of making the fifty-hour podcast. Any residual funds after this expense will be put towards the cost of printing a limited number of books. It is currently available as an eBook.

There are people like me who find it difficult to read a printed book or an eBook. I would like them to have the opportunity to hear a professionally made podcast of the story of my life.
