Youa's Journey with Breast Cancer

Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Youa, would know that she is the most thoughtful, humorous, and light- hearted person.  Unfortunately in July of 2017 she was diagnosed with Invasion Ductal Cancer of the left breast Grade 2 of 3. Families and friends who received news about this were all heartbroken. In August of 2017, she had a lumpectomy but it was determined that the tumor was bigger than expected so doctors recommended a mastectomy. Youa underwent her mastectomy surgery for her left breast on October 3rd. After the surgery, mammaprint test came back at high risk so chemotherpy and radiation was recommend per her oncologist. As of right now, Youa has been receiving chemo since November 6th which will continue onto next year and radiation will follow. Just this past weekend she lost 50% of her hair which has brought down her morale and confidence but she hasn't given up on this battle yet. Youa is married to Pao and has eight caring sons and three lovely daughters. As one can imagine, it is stressful for Youa to support her family financially at the moment. Any amount donated as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will be used towards medical and any unforeseen expenses. 

Breast cancer has been a struggle for those who were diagnosed, but many have fought the long battle. Unfortunately there are those who have also lost. We are trying to reach out and raise awareness, especially people in the Hmong community. We suggest getting your annual mammogram starting at the age of 40 because breast cancer can happen to anyone at any time. Discovering it at an early stage can and help change one's future.
