(EVERY CONTRIBUTION MATTERS)
Dear reader,
Our names are John Preisler, Tomás Lemus, and Tazio Gazzini. We are all students of the PPLE program at IE University in Madrid, and together we helm the newly started film production company, DOORHINGE PRODUCTIONS. In a few weeks, we are about to start production of our 3RD official short film, "You Sun Among Women", together with our brilliant crew:
Writer & Director: John Preisler
Producer: John Preisler
Associate Producers: Tomas Lemus, Tazio Gazzini
Assistant Director: Santiago Giorgini
Assistant Producer: India Ebert-Thompson
Director of Photography: Abidin Hamudi
Art Director: Sofía Díaz
CAST: Jorge F. Hernandez, Louis Hearn, Tomas Lemus, Ebba Briem
Why are we doing this?
Like all our productions, this short film has nothing to do with our school work and is not requested by a third party. We do this solely out of our love for films, our interest in creating them, and our grander plan of permeating the global movie industry, including Hollywood. We are fully certain and determined that one day we will be standing next to companies like A24, Neon, Focus Features, Magnolia, etc.
How are we doing this?
This script, written and soon to be directed by me, John Preisler, is the result of my interest in AI and neurotechnology. The story revolves around an experiment in which a brain-computer interface chip is implanted in a human in order to access and relive memories, partly based on Elon Musk's own comments about his company NeuraLink.
All crew members were part of an intense 12-week film-seminar program last year with lectures by Diego Corsini and Elisa Puerto Aubel. The seminar was organized by the IEU Film Club, its board consisting of the same three students that formed DOORHINGE. Throughout these seminar sessions, we studied a lot of theory, but we also worked in practical ways with script writing and filming.
Why are you on this link?
Although we have some personal money that we will invest in this project, we are still broke, indebted students, and we extend our sincerest requests to anyone who has ended up on this link, to help us reach our budgetary goals by donating to this project. The money would go directly to a bank account specifically created for this production and would finance anything related to equipment rental, the purchasing of props, food for the crew, etc.
What can we give you?
When investing in a short film, you will not get your money back. However, your small donation can move mountains for young and poor filmmakers. We are passionate and ambitious and will do everything in our might to get this film recognition in festivals. Upon request, we will provide anything from the script to detailed financial accountancy. We can also provide a behind-the-scenes montage and daily schedules. No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or promotions are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.
Thank you in advance, everyone.
With all my best,
John Preisler
