Hi, My Name is John Bratkovic, I have decided to start this Go Fund Me Page for the Manning Family!
We have known the Mannings for many years and love them dearly, they are truly like family.
Justin and Brooke Manning live in Olathe, Kansas and have four kids: David, Jake, Patrick and Savannah. My son Cole has been best friends with Patrick since 3rd grade.
Justin and Brooke both work in Healthcare and have for many years.
Justin is a dialysis nurse at the University of Kansas Medical Center and has saved many lives throughout his career.
During Covid, Justin worked 80 hours a week and barely saw his family! A True American Hero during unprecedented times!
UNFORTUNATELY! In February, the Manning family's fate took a turn for the worst.
Justin began having tingling in his fingers and numbness in his body, he was rushed to the Emergency Room, it was discovered that Justin had severe spinal cord damage, as a result, he has had two major surgeries since March. The doctor thinks it will take him at least a year to recover, and may not ever be able to return to work! At this point, Justin is very limited in all activities with not an end in site!
His wife Brooke is a Rockstar and is doing her best to pick up the slack, and is now looking at working two jobs while both of them do their ultimate best to be the best parents they can during these difficult circumstances. It is crazy how life works, here a stand-up guy in the community who has saved hundreds of lives, and bust his tail every day, ends up with spinal cord damage and may never be able to practice nursing again.
I spent the evening with all of them the other night, and things are extremely lean. He is very grateful for all of the support that a few friends and family have provided, but they need a whole lot more.
I cannot imagine what they are going through not knowing what they are going to do for money and pay their bills etc, provide fun activities for their kids etc. This is not how it is supposed to be for them, this is not how it should be for anyone.
The question is now, what's next? The answer is simple, appreciate all that we have, and help however we can. The time is now to step up and help someone in great need.
My ask of all of you is that you find it in your heart to help this fallen healthcare worker and his family in this great time of need, just as he help many many families during the pandemic.
Any amount is a good amount. I asked the Mannings if I could start this, and they were very appreciative. I would want someone to do the same for me if this happened to me.
Justin mentioned that they are about $1,500 short per month with bills after they receive their weekly disability check.
If you could find it in your heart to make a small donation to this terrific family in their time of need, I know they would be eternally grateful.
Let's give back to a family that has given so much to our society.
Now's the time for us all to make a difference!
Thank you so much for considering
