Houston Philmont Crews offers Scouts in the Sam Houston Area Council the chance to experience high-adventure backpacking in a Boy Scout environment. This life-changing program is available to Boy Scouts who meet certain requirements and face financial challenges. For eligible Scouts, all fees, equipment, clothing, food, and transportation are covered.

As experienced Philmont trek advisors, we know the profound impact a Philmont Trek can have on a young person seeking hope and meaning. All youth should have the opportunity to build the confidence and character needed for a successful life. Philmont crews are youth-led, with Scouts responsible for activities, schedules, navigation, cooking, cleaning, and safety.
