You Got This Karina
To my fellow friends, family and coworkers;
Karina Alvidrez has been my friend since college years; going back 15 years ago. She’s the friend who lights up the room when you’re down, always has a smile on her face and is all and all a good friend. We met while she was getting interviewed in our internship class. I knew from the first day I met her she was going to be a lifelong friend. We ended up getting hired together for our internship at Kellwood and eventually 14 years later still at CK. She’s not just a coworker, she’s a friend, a sister I never had and a travel companion. She’s loved dearly by her parents, sister, brother, in-laws, cousins, godson and two nieces. The list goes on and on.
As you know, Karina was diagnosed with breast cancer and has a long road ahead of her. She’s been keeping strong for her chemo treatments which start next. The bright eyed friend who lights up the room, is still keeping a smile on her face as she battles the toughest obstacle in her life. With treatment, she will have side effects which one of them will be losing her hair. The doctor recommends wearing a gel cap which will help prevent her from losing her beautiful long hair. However, the gel cap costs roughly $3K and insurance won’t cover the costs, due to it being considered a “luxury”. I’m asking if you can help make a donation to pay for Karina’s gel cap, Uber rides to and from NYU, copayments etc. Anything helps, and I know she will appreciate the kindness. Kindness goes a long way.
Let’s pray Karina will get through this journey. She has amazing friends, family and co-workers all rooting for her. We are her biggest cheerleader!
Thank you all!
Jaclyn xx
