Instrumental Break.

Donation protected

I need your help. I'm definitely not one to ask for it, but I could really use a break. I recently spent eight days inpatient at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for mental health reasons. This past Friday was my third (ECT) treatment, and over the course of the next two weeks I will receive six additional treatments outpatient on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's. I can't drive those days, and have the amazing support of my family to get me to and from the procedures. What I don't have is the ability to work. In a typical week I drive 30 hrs for Uber and spend the same amount of time trying to grow my small business You Found Music. Following the completion of (ECT) I will be working with the VA to get the inpatient/outpatient treatment I need to get back on track in Nashville, Tennessee where I currently reside. The funds raised would help to cover personal expenses/bills, operating and overhead costs for You Found Music for the months of September and October while receiving treatment.

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a medical treatment most commonly used in patients with severe major depression or bipolar disorder that has not responded to other treatments. ECT involves a brief electrical stimulation of the brain while the patient is under anesthesia.

I fully understand if you're not in a position to make a donation, but would greatly appreciate you sharing this in your community for support.

I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 12 years, I struggle with a major depressive disorder, PTSD, and anxiety. I am not ashamed to admit that at all. I have and will always stand up for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Over the course of the past five years I have been receiving in and outpatient treatment from the VA for the above diagnoses with little success, which has lead to where I am today.

I would be forever grateful, and I assure you that I will put any funds raised back into the community.

I will put any additional funds received directly into You Found Music!
I am always doing what I can to assist, and help people in the independent artists and small venue arena. If you’d like more information about what I’m doing feel free to reach out, I would be happy to chat about what I’m doing with You Found Music!

What is You Found Music?

You Found Music is a platform to promote and support independent artists. Your donation would help put me in a position to bring on a intern and assist with the operation budget. My goal is to provide opportunity and support those who are in need of services from development and beyond. I love music, and it is my passion to help! My goal has always been to support artists and raise awareness for the importance of the arts and community.

I’ve been hustling to build this into a sustainable business and platform. I’ve worked with artist near and far in various capacities. From booking, promotion, running live sound, putting together showcases, and hosting artists on the You Found Music Facebook page for live streams from March 2020 to April 2021 due to the impact of COVID.

I will be laying low and focusing on treatment through the month of October.

*Take a look around, see what I've been up to, and support music and artists anyway you can.

Very Respectfully,
James "Sarge" Carter
