"You Fight On" Support George in getting a Liver Transplant.

Hello my name is George Spears, I have been dealing with Stage 4 Liver Disease since March of two-thousand and twenty-one. I am truly thankful for still being here to tell my story! Upon initial diagnosis, the doctors who attended me gave me a 3 month window of survival. Stage 4 is the last diagnosis before death. I didn't even know I passed through stage 1, 2, and three. The situation had looked very bleak at the time. I spent the first 4 months hospitalized and when they sent me home. They sent me with hospice care. After arrival at home I had a second hospitalization at another facility for 5 months. Finally I was home Spring of 2022. As a result of an operation that didnt take well I spent the rest of 2022 in and out of the hospital and the operating room. My doctors told me I was like scrap iron, I just wouldn't give up or fade away! Some of the procedures I had done to me, some said that I wouldn't get up off the operating table. However, I did and recovered well. Though I came home very weak and only weiging 155 pounds within 6 months i bounced back.

Currently, 2024 is slowly coming to an end. I have had many obstacles and setbacks but I am still here to tell you about it! I have been on the liver transplant list at MUSC in Charleston since two-thousand and twenty-two. My scores are well and so I haven't been thrown to the top of the list, and why? Just like the Bumble Bee is not supposed to fly, I am not supposed to live. I only have 4 inches of liver tissue connected to my Portal Vein. A normal liver is the size of an American football. I only have a remnant of that. The area is so small that they will not be able to graft a part of liver to it. I must have a total liver transplant which entails being cut in half. They will place a 17 inch cut from my navel to the middle of my back to access the area that they will need to work in. The operation will take roughly 26 hours to perform providing there are no problems. I am excited when that day comes. I am convinced that it will be successful for the Lord has heard my cry. He told me that I shall live and not die! Yes, I want to live, will you help my eyes see tomorrow? I thank you all for your prayers, for prayer is the key to the Kingdom.

However, if you want to help me stay on this side for I have works yet to do, donate your time and monies. For it is written in the Bible in Ecclesiates 10:19 that "money is the answer to all things!" So please don't think my operation is free! It cost a little over $500,000 dollars for a liver transplant! Even more important is resources to sustain your body and mind until that time comes! We need to deal with realism instead of illusions and fallacies. Even Jesus said if your son asks for bread why would you give him a rock? Matthew 7:9 Kjv. A special thanks to all who have donated. May God keep us all in the safety of his arms! Again, I say thank you!
