Help Protect Young Venezuelan Migrants from Danger

Donation protected
It is dangerous being a migrant. Those fleeing the chaos in Venezuela have an especially harrowing journey. They must walk through the Darien Gap – 66 miles of muddy, treacherous jungle, ruled by vicious cartel gangs intent on robbing and raping migrants. And having great success.

Gabriela and Andrés (not their real names) lived through five months of terror, not knowing what might happen next, as they walked the 5,000 miles from Venezuela to the U.S.-Mexico border.

In the end, they weren’t among the lucky ones. They were held for ransom by a Mexican cartel and left, penniless and starving, on the streets of one of the most dangerous cities in Mexico.

As a result of this horrific experience, Gabriela had a miscarriage.

I asked myself: what if these were my children? They embarked on this journey when they were only 19 and 20 years old.

So I created this GoFundMe to support Gabriela and Andrés. They are now here in the United States, trying to live a simple life but in desperate straits, unable to work legally while they apply for asylum.

Help me help them by supporting this GoFundMe. This is how we make a difference in the lives of those running for their lives. One person – one family – at a time.
