Help Us Give Emerita Parcia Romero a Fighting Chance Against Cancer!
Hello, my name is Roden Fernandez, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a plea for help that no son-in-law ever wants to make.
My mother-in-law, Emerita Parcia Romero, lives in Cavite, Philippines—and she’s currently in the middle of the fight of her life against cancer without any insurance! Roden below is singing "Angels among us." on Roden's mother's 80th Birthday, which he is also dedicated to his mother-in-law, Emerita, who is fighting a battle against cancer ❤️https://youtu.be/pBKZo3OKNu0 Thank you to all who have already donated!
Just recently, Emerita completed her first round of chemotherapy, a treatment that cost $18,000—paid entirely out of pocket, with no insurance coverage. My wife, Editha, and I used every bit of our life savings to help make it happen. But this is just the beginning. More rounds of chemotherapy are likely needed, and each one costs $18,000.
Emerita is a strong, humble, and deeply loving woman. She’s the kind of person who’s spent her life quietly giving to others, never asking for anything in return. Now, she needs us—and we need you!
I work third shift in Operations at MillerKnoll in Toronto, Ontario and have been there for 27 years! I'm so grateful for my job, my company and my colleagues! They are helping me as much as they can!
My wife, Edietha, just finished her own exhausting battle with cancer last year. We thought we had seen the worst, and we were beginning to find our footing again. Then came the devastating news about her mother.
We didn’t think twice—we gave everything we had left. But we are now completely overwhelmed. Emotionally. Physically. Financially. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t do this alone anymore.
This is why I’m asking—from the bottom of my heart—for your support.
Whether it’s $5, $50, or more, your donation will go directly toward Emerita’s upcoming treatments. Every contribution—large or small—gives her a real chance to continue fighting. And every share of this page brings us closer to someone who might be able to help.
If you’ve ever had a loved one face cancer, you know how painful it is to stand by, wanting to do more. Right now, you can do more. You can be part of giving this incredible woman more time with her family, more strength to keep fighting, and more hope than she’s had in months.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. For caring. For giving if you’re able. And for standing with us in one of the most difficult chapters of our lives.
With deep gratitude,
Roden Fernandez
