You Are Our Sunshine Jacie Knight!

As the Founder and Artistic Director of Youth Performance Company (YPC), Jacie Knight has empowered thousands of young artists to find their voice and shine onstage and off. She believes in the power of theatre to build confidence, empathy, and community—and she made that vision a reality for generations of youth. For over three decades, Jacie poured her heart and soul into creating opportunities for young people through the arts.

In 2019, Jacie received a diagnosis of Stage IV Carcinoid Cancer—a very rare form of cancer. Despite this life-altering diagnosis, she continued her work with remarkable resilience, ultimately retiring from YPC in 2022.

Throughout her battle, Jacie has faced immense physical and emotional challenges, including major surgery to remove tumors and portions of her intestines, and ongoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Rather than enjoying a well-earned retirement filled with travel and time with her son, her days have been consumed by ongoing treatments and medical struggles.

Today, Jacie is burdened by significant medical expenses related to her continued treatments, medications, and travel to the Mayo Clinic.
