My amazing sister Jessie as many of you know was diagnosed with breast cancer back in October 2017. She went through a tough battle with chemo, radiation, and surgeries. She just finished her reconstructive surgery this past September. Things seemed to be looking up. Jessie then started experiencing sporadic balancing problems, memory issues, thinking it was just chemo brain. Then around Christmas the headaches started. They got to a point where they were unbearable so she went in. I was under the impression she was unfortunate to just be experiencing her first migraine. They treated her as so, but nothing was helping. Jessie went in again and got sent to the ER. On December 30th, I drove to the ER to meet up with my sister and Mom thinking we were still waiting on CT results. As soon as I walked into the room I knew from their expressions that they already knew the results. My sister’s CT scan showed tumors all over her brain, her breast cancer had metastasized. My family is devastated. Things got worse from there, further scans revealed the cancer spread to other parts of her body. Jessie underwent brain surgery on January 2nd to remove the largest tumor on her brain that was affecting some of her motor skills and causing the headaches. The surgery went well and for sure made some improvements. Jessie will be healing from this for the next three weeks. Following that, she will begin treatment first on her brain then onto the rest of her body. Jessie is the strongest and most caring person I know. She is my best friend, I see so much love and compassion in her for everything, animals, people, art, books, photography, music, and making people laugh. Now it is time to give back some of that love. That is why I am starting this GoFundMe for her. I have seen most things that cancer can do to someone. Somethings I will never see unless I were in her shoes. Cancer takes away so much, including your ability to provide for yourself. No one can deny Jessie has a family that will help her with everything and anything but I know with a little help from you all we can give her a small peace of mind. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is what is most important so she can focus on treating this disease. Please spread the word.
