I’m Emma, 34, an NHS worker and a full-time dog/mini human mum. Oh, and did I mention I like to run? :)
Last year, I completed my first ever marathon. This year, I’m doing 2 marathons (Manchester and Blackpool) a week apart in April for this wonderful charity.
In fact, I hope to do 6 running events over the 2026 starting with Media City Half on Sunday 15th Feb. Watch this space for what else I end up signing up for!
Having worked in the NHS for three years, I have seen the wonderful impact these charities can have on local services.
For example, Airedale Wharfedale and Craven have started the ‘Active Together’ programme to help colorectal cancer patients recover through a truly tough time with a personalised plan for their care outside of treatment. These programmes are invaluable for wellbeing and keeping these individuals fighting fit.
Yorkshire is one of the regions hardest hit by cancer. I see it in our patients, friends and family.
Anything you can give to help means so much.
