Yorek the brave!
Donation protected
As some of you know, Yorek had a traumatic injury during school that will cost him his vision in his right eye. He had emergency surgery to save the eye. It went well and he is recovering remarkably. Sadly, Yorek's eye's lens was damaged in the accident and was removed during surgery. Whether or not a lens can be implanted cannot be reviewed for years. Yorek will need additional surgeries and has a long road to recovery. If you would like to support Yorek and our family through this hardship, to help alleviate medical costs, we all would be grateful.
Yorek is in good spirits and many have said that his resilience is inspirational. He has never lost his smile and never complained about his patch or his continuous eye drops.
Luckily, the OU children's hospital in OKC is relatively close and the team at the Dean mcGee Eye Institute are phenomenal.
It's heartbreaking to see your child, or any child, go through something like this when all you want to do is protect them. Watching him adapt and realize that this is a lifelong detriment brings a lot of emotions. The amount of love he and our family have received has really had a positive impact. So thank you to the school and our friends and family! He's enjoyed all of the love and wishes.
Any donations will go directly to his emergency surgery, upcoming surgeries, hospital stays, scans and travel. Thank you to everyone for the support!
