With your support, we are in the process of buiding a historical exhibition/museum for the Yonkers Fire Department! The mission of the exhibit is to collect, preserve and present the history and cultural heritage of the fire service of Yonkers so that one day we can have a permanent museum.
While our history is strong, we can't do this alone! Your generous donation will help to cover our start up and exhibit costs to resurrect and actualize the project, while preserving and resoring these items that are over a centruy old. Your donations will help to pay for:

-Preservation of artifacts
-Display of artifacts

Organized firefighting in Yonkers was born in 1852 with the establishment of a volunteer organization. For 44 years, these men served Yonkers until the necessity arose for more adequate and advanced fire protection. As a result, the Yonkers Fire Department was established as a professional department in 1896. With a history of over 120 years, the evolution of the department, the scope of work, and the tools utilized to keep the civilians of Yonkers safe is both historically relevant and celebratory.
Your contribution will enable the preservation of the stories of Yonkers bravest and provide a multi-generational educational experience for the community.
