Yonis Molina's Medical
Donation protected
I've made this GoFundMe for my boyfriend Yonis. In early November, he suffered a severe injury to his clavicle, where it had dislocated in two places, and he had torn his SC joint. The damage is infrequent, rare enough that the Orthopedic surgeon he was referred to from the ER had not dealt with this type of injury, nor had he operated on something like that. Yonis was referred to a different hospital with another medical team more capable of doing the emergency surgery he needed. Yonis had to wait almost a month before he could have this emergency surgery and has been out of work since, unable to move or lift his arm at all and in extreme pain. During this time, I had contracted Meningitis from stress. I was hospitalized, eventually going home with a midline catheter in my arm to receive medication 24/7. Despite being in immense pain and limited in what he could do, Yonis took care of not only myself but my six-year-old daughter, my two huskies and the entirety of the house and everything with it so I could get better.
Finally, after weeks of waiting, Yonis was scheduled for surgery on 12/8 and came home 12/9. This was a very delicate but major surgery; his collar bone had been dislocated in such a way it was pushed into his chest; his surgeons did not know how close the bone was to the carotid artery in his neck and there was a possibility his aorta could also be torn. That being said, A Cardio-Thoracic doctors team had to be on standby. He had a total of three surgeons teams in the operating room for this procedure, which was highly nerve-wracking for us both. Yonis has a very long road to recovery; he is at a minimum of 6 weeks in a compression sling before he can even think about physical therapy; we aren't even sure how long therapy will be, but we were told this is something that will take months before he's back at 100%. Yonis is a bartender, so you can imagine how detrimental this is to his livelihood. He, unfortunately, has no health insurance. He is already behind in bills due to the injury. All donations will go towards hospital, Rehab and home payments. With all this being said, I ask any generous people for help. Us knowing it's the Holiday season. We invite all to share this as well, please and thank you.
