I'm creating this fund for my sister, her husband and their daughter who were in a near-fatal car accident on Dec. 30, 2016. My sister, Dawn, was taken to a hospital in Modesto, CA, and her husband, Dave, and daughter, Keiha, were taken to a hospital in Madera. Dawn suffered broken fingers, a deep gash (required six staples) to her head, brain bleed and swelling, cracked ribs, a hemorrhaged right eye and multiple fractures to her neck. Her husband was treated for a concussion and released along with their daughter.
Although he had been treated and released, my brother-in-law, Dave, complained of migraines and dizziness. He didn’t want to eat and seemed lethargic. By the week’s end, Dave was taken to the hospital and it was discovered that he had a fractured skull and brain bleed. He then had brain surgery the following morning that required titanium mesh to repair the skull that was shattered. A few days after surgery, he was released to go home and recover. However, the next evening he became unresponsive and something was definitely wrong. He was taken back to the hospital for an MRI and CT scan. Those tests showed that he had suffered multiple strokes. As of today (Jan. 28, 2017), he cannot talk, write, or walk and has been admitted into an acute rehab center. He has a long road ahead of him as he learns everything all over again, including colors, shapes, and names of loved ones.
At this point, neither can work and it’s already been a month. The medical bills haven’t come in yet, but they will shortly. But medical bills aside, they still have their mortgage to pay and all the bills that come along with owning a home. If you have a desire to help my family, we thank you. If you can’t help monetarily, please pray to God for peace, comfort, finances, and healing for all.
Thank you for reading this! Love and hugs from me and my family.
Sincerely,
