Help Yonder Dynamics Finish the Mission!

Yonder Dynamics is a student robotics organization at UC San Diego formally established in Fall 2016. As our primary project, we design and build a Mars rover for the annual University Rover Challenge (URC), a prestigious international competition for college students. Above all, our people are our mission. We believe in developing individuals from the ground up to prepare them for their future endeavors. Now with over sixty active members from a variety of backgrounds, we pride ourselves on inclusivity—robotics is for everyone.

Last year, our rover Latency placed 6th in the world overall at the 2024 URC world finals. This year, our rover Contingency has qualified to compete in the URC world finals in Hanksville, Utah.

Participating in this competition requires significant financial support. From travel, lodging, and insurance, the costs add up quickly. We are looking to raise $5,000 in order to attend this year’s URC.

Typically, the university covers costs related to travel for competition teams. Unfortunately, the university-wide budget for this funding source has run out early this year, and we will not be provided with necessary travel funds. This news came to us at the very last minute, and our members must pay out of pocket to participate in the competition.

This has placed our team members with financial burden as college students. We are reaching out to ask for support in helping us reach URC. This is a great educational opportunity that we would like to share with as many students as possible. Each donation helps us in reaching our goal.
