Most everyone who came to the small town of Las Terrenas was touched in some way by the exuberant smile of Yonathan Reyes, whether they see him animating the dance floor in local discos, giving zumba classes on the beach, lifting weights in the gym, or just hanging out.
Yonathan's inexplicable and brutal murder has profoundly impacted the entire town and all who knew him.
His family has very limited resources, but needs to ensure that the police and investigators in this country, who are often corrupt or just lazy, put all their efforts into finding and convicting all the perpetrators (for the moment only one is in prison, and one accomplice has illegally escaped the country).
This account has thus been set up to ensure that justice is done, honestly and completely, in this case.
In furtherance, this account will be used to offer Yonathan's 11-year-old daughter the support that she will no longer receive from him in the years to come.
The funds will be administered by a close friend of Yonathan and his family, in a transparent manner to all contributors who wish to be informed. Updates the case and shopping for the daughter will be given to contributors who so wish.
