Yolanda's Healing Fund

Our mother/wife/Lela/Tia Yolanda Ruiz, was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She is uninsured; thanks to our community's advocacy, she had surgery to remove all 5 of her reproductive organs on August 23, 2019 at the Women’s Cancer Center of the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center in the Morristown Medical Center. The estimated cost of the surgery with one night stay at the hospital was $21,152.00 and she had to pay $10,000.00 up front.  Yolanda had to remain at the hospital for 3 nights, so we anticipate higher costs than estimated. 

Yolanda is optimistic and looking forward to returning to her life's work: taking care of others. She has dedicated her life to gifting motherly love to all who enter her home; now we ask for your help to take care of her.  Your financial contributions are deeply appreciated; charity care will cover 40% of her medical costs.  We are a resourceful family and have sought out assistance programs for medical bills..  The Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation  gave us a large sum that ensured her surgery was done when scheduled.  Still, we anticipate hospital bills, travel costs, home health aid costs, nutritional costs, insurance coverage, and mental health care costs that may not be covered without your help.
