Yolanda's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Back in 2016, my son experienced a traumatic brain injury in New York. For the first year, I was back and forth from Maryland to New York because of his doctor appointments. Between catching up on medical bills, prescription and transportation costs. I finally got a chance to breathe thinking this was the end but it was only the beginning of another battle. July 2019, I was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called Leiomyosarcoma. Who would have thought I, a young, healthy 53 year old would have a full hysterectomy due to a large mass in the middle of my uterus. Thinking that would be the end, I go for my follow up visit after the surgery and discovered cancer had moved to my right lung. Due to the aggressive nature of cancer, chemo had to be started immediately. Unfortunately because of treatment, I am unable to work. My mother is currently helping out as much as she can but it is a strain on her. Funds will be used for treatments and medications not covered by insurance, transportation, and daily living expenses. Please donate and share whatever you can, every little bit helps. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.
