Yolanda Villacorta - ICU Medical & Day to Day Exp.
My name is Fernando Camacho. I'm the son of Yolanda Villacorta, mother to 3. My mom flew recently to her homeland in Moyobamba, Peru, against our wishes sadly, to see loved ones.
She went with a deep desire to help show her family how to sew masks, bring laptops/resources to her family Church in Peru, and see her mom on her birthday.
On the days coming, we believe she had contracted the Covid-19 virus.
In Rural Peru, there are very few ventilators. She was required to do ventilation yesterday, but we missed an opportunity to ventilate until the next day, as there are many patients waiting for an ICU bed.
She is currently being treated in Hospital I-II Moyobamba, and had entered ICU last night and is currently in critical condition. We will be needing to pay out of pocket for day to day & medical expenses for my mom, as well as help the family members that are helping the doctors pick up supplies/medications.
We are hoping for the absolute best outcome.
There are other ways to help, by sending your love, prayers, and support.
In the future, we will be raising awareness for the need of more ventilators in Peru, so more people in this situation, can have a fighting chance. We will also be raising awareness of intubation alternatives, that can potentially help Covid-19 patients in places where access to ventilators is scarce.

Mi nombre es Fernando Camacho. Soy hijo de Yolanda Villacorta, madre de tres hijos. Mi madre voló recientemente a su tierra natal en Moyobamba, Perú, en contra de nuestros deseos, lamentablemente, para ver a sus seres queridos.
Fue con un profundo deseo de ayudar a mostrarle a su familia cómo coser máscaras, llevar computadoras portátiles / recursos a la Iglesia de su familia en Perú y ver a su mamá en su cumpleaños.
En los próximos días, creemos que contrajo el virus Covid-19.
En el Perú rural, hay muy pocos ventiladores. Ayer se le pidió que realizara ventilación, pero perdimos la oportunidad de ventilar hasta el día siguiente, ya que hay muchos pacientes esperando una cama de UCI.
Actualmente está siendo atendida en el Hospital I-II de Moyobamba, había ingresado en la UCI anoche y actualmente se encuentra en estado crítico. Tendremos que pagar de nuestro bolsillo los gastos médicos y del día a día de mi madre, así como ayudar a los miembros de la familia que ayudan a los médicos a recoger los suministros / medicamentos.

En el futuro, crearemos conciencia sobre la necesidad de más ventiladores en Perú, para que más personas en esta situación puedan tener una oportunidad de luchar. También crearemos conciencia sobre las alternativas de intubación, que potencialmente pueden ayudar a los pacientes con Covid-19 en lugares donde el acceso a ventiladores es escaso.
