My name is Yohan Matta, and I'm currently creating my first-ever film. It's going to be a full-length feature film. I started working on it in February of 2025, and I'm going to start filming in December. I've built a film crew of amazing people for this and I am fundraising to help with the filmmaking process. Passover - A Film by Yohan Matta

Logline:

A group of strangers who meet in

a trail to escape their

problems, but they eventually

face them due to spiritual

beings testing and guiding them.

Synopsis:

VINCENT COLETTE is walking along a trail, its quiet, the

surreal nature of the trail gives an eerie presence. He comes

across a stranger named KYE GARCIA. They both have a

conversation about what they think of the trail and as that

happens they see a ghost, he stares and as they walk towards

him, he disappears. A STYROFOAM PLANE lands next to them.

They meet up the next day to hang out and come across another

stranger named EVREN. As they are talking the ghost appears

again and gives them a warning, "death is coming for you"

They decipher his warning and find that "death" is a man, or

something else. The STYROFOAM PLANE IS LOST.

Vincent has trouble with his grandpas dementia so he goes to

the trail to escape, it seems like everyone has a reason to

escape. Vincent meets his grandpa on a Whim and can't accept

his grandpas condition. The STYROFOAM PLANE is retrieved.

After he and Kye come across a book written by "The Angel of

Death". Death tries to manipulate both of them to run away

from their problems by staying at the trail. A new Spiritual

being called "The Holy Spirit" Is with the ghost and gives

the 3 friends and A new stranger, DAMIAN CLINE a final

warning. "Death will come for you very soon, be ready, you

can't look at him, be alone, or be afraid. It is revealed to

them that the world wasn't as it seemed. Damian doesn't

believe it. The STYROFOAM PLANE is lost one final time.

Evren sees what the Holy Spirit warned them about. They meet

a girl named AURORA and take her to hunker down in a house to

prepare for Death to come. They get split into three groups,

They begin to get tormented which each of their traumas. They

do their best to persevere, Damian gets into an argument with

Kye and Vincent, so he locks himself in a room to prove none

of this is real. Evren and Aurora escape the house to have

their last moments with each other, and Kye and Vincent are

to face their trauma head on, they listen to music to keep

themselves fearless. All of their last moments are met by the

holy spirit. Death and Life is uncertain. The STYROFOAM PLANE

flies back, at that same field, but it seems different this

time. The Air is quiet.

Directors Statement

The story of this film has huge pieces of my life,

personality, dreams, and memories baked into it. I am going

to film with a couple different cameras, one going to be a

digital camera that shows the "home video" child-like essence

that I want to show. As the different emotions and story

beats change, I want the same type of color gradient, but

changes in camera quality, saturation, and brightness. I have

so much nostalgia for places like in the film and I wanna

portray that feeling to the viewer. I dream very vividly and

I also want to portray that surreal feeling you get in a

dream. Another form of expression for me is music, I have a

custom album made for the film, so that when there are

specific important scenes, those songs play like a music

video. The most important aspect for my inspiration and

motivation is my devotion to Jesus and Christianity, a lot of

it comes from my faith. I want to portray that there is

something to ponder when it comes to having faith in things

spiritual.
