Who Dat
What’s good! My name is Evan Crommett and I’m a singer-songwriter born & based in New York City. For the past six years I’ve been independently writing, producing, releasing, and performing my own music. My highest streamed song, Thin Mints, just passed 1 million Spotify streams, and it’s my goal to celebrate this milestone by releasing my first ever music video!

Team & Concept
Nay Tabbara, a Brooklyn-based adjunct-professor of film at NYU, will direct the music video; here’s a brief summary of the concept she’s laid out for it:
Thin Mints is a song about desiring someone and wanting badly for them to see what you have to offer. In these situations, the “crush feeling” can act almost as an external force, pushing, tugging, and tripping us– forcing us to assume new, strange postures in the hopes of seeming more appealing. In the video, these “crush feelings” will be personified by two dancers, Hana Bookman and Aleah Black, as we watch them toy with, tease, and manipulate several couples (played by AJ Nickell, Rili Newman, Hannah Bailey, Aline Salloum, Laura Spineti) in different stages of courtship. I’ll also feature in the video, initially in a narrator-type role, and then later as another victim of the mischievous Crush Dancers. We’ll be filming in Brooklyn in late October.

What That Schmoney Do
I’d like to be able to fairly compensate the five actors, two dancers, director, producer & DP for the time they’ve spent in rehearsal, and the time they’ll dedicate to shoot day. I’d also like to rent high quality recording equipment, provide food & beverages for the cast and crew, and cover transportation. The $2225 raised will go towards these expenses.

Larger Impact
Once the video launches, I’ll attach a charity campaign to it for Girl Scout Troop 6000, a troop tailor-made for girls in New York’s shelter system. The song owes its name of course, to the famous Girl Scout cookie - Thin Mints, so it’s fitting that those scouts most in need of support might benefit from the success of this song & video. The more traction we can get for the video, the more potential good we can do!

I appreciate your consideration. Even a few dollars would go a long way; as a fully independent, self-managed artist, your attention and support is what makes my artistic career possible.
Thank you! I hope your summer is coming to a lovely conclusion.
