April’s medical expenses

My name is Johanna and I am a graduate student at Cornell University. In September of 2021, I adopted my kitty April from the Tompkins County SPCA. When April came home with me she was extremely underweight and shy. In her time with me, she has blossomed into a rambunctious and playful girl, and she is the light of my life. She especially loves to play fetch and sleeps in my bed with me every night. Today I took April into the vet for a slight cough, and x-rays and an echocardiogram revealed April has congenital heart failure. She is admitted to the Cornell animal hospital and undergoing treatment to reverse her heart failure and drain fluid buildup in her lungs. I want to ensure that April receives the best care possible. Since I brought her to the vet this morning, I have already spent several thousand dollars on treatment and tests, which is a big expense for a grad student. I know there are a ton of worthy causes, but April and I are forever grateful for any donations that help her get the care she needs to live the longest high quality life possible.
