Cohen's Speech Therapy

Cohen is almost 5 years old today.  On November 27th 2010 Cohen was still born at UVA hospital in Charlottesville, VA.  Through great advancements in technology and a wonderful staff of doctors and nurses, Cohen was revived and spent 31 days in the NICU to begin his life. Doctors told us my wifes placenta had failed and that Cohen had suffered irreversible brain damage while dying in the womb. Now almost five years later, I am happy to say that Cohen has become a loving, caring beautiful boy. But the damage that occured to his brain has left him incapable of verbally communicating to his potential . His vocabulary consists of 20-30 words which would put him in the age range of a 2.5 year old. As parents we are trying to do all we can to make sure the world can hear Cohen speak loud and clear.
