Paul Webb's Flood Disaster

Donation protected
Paul and Sandy Webb lived near Gills Creek in Columbia, SC. until forced out of their home by tropical storm Joaquin.  Between October 1st - 5th, Columbia received over 20" of rain with October 4th the wettest day in the history of the city.  This event was characterized as a 1,000 year rainfall event.  Five dams in the Gills Creek Watershed breached: Pinetree Lake, Semmes Lake, Upper Rockyford Lake, Rockyford Lake, and Cary Lake. The extensive flooding caused several deaths, displaced an unknown number of residents, washed out a number of roads and bridges, and caused a yet-to-be-determined amount of property damage.

Like so many people, Paul and Sandy were swept up in a flash flood that changed their lives forever.  The interior of their house was flooded with 4 - 5 feet of water, ruining most everything.  They moved everything they could to higher levels, but were quickly forced to take refuge in the attic until rescued by boat. Their house and both vehicles were considered a total loss. And unfortunately, like so many people, they did not have flood insurance.  The road to recovery will be long and difficult.

We are asking friends and neighbors to contribute generously to help Paul and Sandy recover from this devastating financial disaster.    They are hard working, God fearing people, worthy of whatever assistance you can give.  Please help.
