YWCA – “Presents of Peace” program
Donation protected
This year for the first time we are taking part in the YWCA – “Presents of Peace” program – This program involves sponsoring underprivileged families at Christmas time by providing food, clothing, and toys for families who would otherwise not get anything else at Christmas. Many of the families are single mothers that have come from abusive homes.
Make a difference this holiday season by sponsoring a low-income family through the YWCA’s Presents of Peace holiday hamper program. With your help we can sponsor 3 families. Approximate cost of a hamper for a family with one child is $300.
· Lynsey is a 36 years old single mother living in Langley, BC. Her 3 years old daughter Aria has asked Santa for a “little girl” alarm clock and any Barbie. Lynsey has requested storage units for some clothes. They are part of the Single Mothers Support Group in the YMCA which looks after women and children that come from a violent or abusive environment.
· Kiran is a 26 years old single mother that lives with her 4 years old son Dillion. Dillion has asked Santa for a Play kitchen and some Paw Patrol toys. Karen has requested we purchase some bath towels.
· Sandra is the 68-year-old single mother of 17-year-old Klarissa. Sandra has requested if we can supply hand lotion, PJ’s and a sweater. Klarissa would like some arts and crafts. Sandra and Klarissa are part of the Single Mother Housing program for families with low income.
Any excess funds would be donated to Simplify the Season that helps families all year long.
