I am attempting to raise whatever funds I can in order to follow a life long dream. This week, my 16 year old son and myself decided to leave New York and move to Colorado. I chose Colorado because I am currently set to begin a gun smithing program, and the school here is one of the best. We packed up our house, loaded the car up on the trailer, and set our compass west. We arrived in Denver last night, and got some much needed rest after four days of father and son road tripping across this great country, no better way to spend a Fourth of July weekend! Well, our first full day in Colorado has turned out to be quite a challenge... After exploring the city for about an hour this morning, my car died stone dead. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, but I'm sure it won't be cheap to fix. Any repairs are going to eat up what I had left saved for a deposit on an apartment for us.
So... The situation is, I currently have my worldly possessions and a dead car loaded on a moving truck that I have for two more days, I can afford to keep us in a hotel until Wednesday, and after that we are truly and well screwed.
After growing up poor, and working hard my whole life, including 11+ years on active duty in the Marine Corps, I am accustomed to finding my way out of shitty situations, but I may be in over my head. I don't make it a habit to ask for charity, but at this point I don't have any answers for my son other than at least we can still smile and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. If you choose to donate to this, rest assured that the money will be used for fixing my car or purchasing another cheap car, and securing an inexpensive apartment. whatever is left will go towards practical and necessary expenses. Thank you for your time
